TYPICAL FOUR DAY CHARTER with Captain Dave Mead
Depart your central city berth and view the other moored super yachts on your passage past working wharves, waterfront luxury apartments and hotels and the busy Auckland Harbour.
Once past all the bustling ferries and yachts, L'AFFAIRE will anchor at picturesque Motuihe Island for lunch. Motuihe is a wild kiwi sanctuary and you are welcome to go ashore and view wildlife, beautiful beaches and historical places.
A rest after lunch or swimming or waterskiing for the more active.
The night's anchorage will be in Putiki Bay, overlooked by vineyards and historic beachside homes. Dinner on board on our spacious Top Deck or land at the nearby beach in the tender and walk up through the vines of Te Whau Vineyard to their award winning restaurant.
Depart Putiki after Breakfast on the Aft Deck and cruise close to shore around the south and western end of Waiheke Island, home to wonderful vineyards and majestic homes belonging to NZ's richest residents.
Fishing is good here in the channels and fresh snapper could be on the menu for Lunch.
L'AFFAIRE will anchor at Oneroa, the largest village on the Island, and after Lunch you can walk along Oneroa's beautiful tree lined beach and into town to mingle amongst the many craft shops.
Dinner on board or onshore as you are now nearby many of Waiheke's larger vineyard restaurants and local cafes including Stonyridge Vineyard with its famous Bordeaux-style Larose wine.
Depart Oneroa and cruise the northern coast of Waiheke - more beachside settlements and native bush-clad hills.
Often times, sighting of dolphins and high diving gannet birds and perhaps trolling for tuna or kingfish.
Anchoring will be at Man O War Bay, lovely and sheltered with wonderful views of nearby islands in the sunset light.
Try a relaxed Lunch at nearby Poderi Crisci, a real unexpected delight in an isolated vineyard with excellent Italian degustation lunch.
Walk along the native bush-lined road for some hilltop views of the Island or longer to Stony Batter, historic underground gun emplacements.
Dinner on board in your choice of many nearby private coves.
After Breakfast on the Top Deck, meander ashore to Man O War Vineyard wine tasting cafe situated just across from the beach. Sample the excellent wines and tasty platters, enough for a brunch or a light lunch.
L'AFFAIRE will then head back to her berth in the Viaduct Harbour and you will see more lovely coastline on the southern side of Waiheke and will now have circumnavigated the Island.
Captain Dave suggests if you have more time then add on the sensational destinations of the lovely Coromandel Peninsula, the wild and remote untouched beauty of Great Barrier Island and the Mansion House on Kawau Island.

Auckland, New Zealand
Auckland is NZ's largest and most diverse city that has a very vibrant downtown area centred around the harbour's edge.
Superyachts are moored minutes from the main street and literally paces away from the best restaurants, cafes and shopping surrounding the waterfront. The beautiful harbour gives way to the outer Hauraki Gulf islands, all offering different experiences.
City areas near the Viaduct Harbour include: Britomart - where you can splash out on the latest fashions at this superb shopping precint; Wynyard Quarter - family fun playspaces, wharfside cafes and great harbour views; Ponsonby & Parnell - nearby suburbs offering the hippest strips for sophisticated dining and after dark dancing; Queen Street - Auckland's main street and the hub of the city centre - walk up to the Sky Tower for the best views in town.
